How do I go about making a table tennis (ping pong) table?

e.g. What kind of wood and material should I use? What are the dimensions?
If you have any experience or you have done this before please give me some tips.
If you know of any good websites which offer free information in this regard please let me know.

a regulation ping-pong table is 9' x 5'. That means one sheet of plywood (4'x8') won't do it. By the time you buy two sheets of plywood, you will have spent enough to buy a prefabricated table, hinged in the center for easy storage. For around $250. you get the table, the net, four paddles and half-a-dozen balls.
